Réserve Marine

Voir

Created in 1974 and managed by the General Council of Pyrénées-Orientales, the National Nature Reserve of Banyuls-Cerbère helped to stop the destruction of the coast which was undergoing tourism, pollution and fishing. With a mission to protect endangered species, it is home to several species classified as posidonia, red coral, large mother-of-pearl, bottlenose dolphin or white stripe.

It also serves as a refuge for species that, until now, were decreasing like groupers, dentis, cats, lobsters, barracudas, drum sars, and others that are now repopulating little by little.

Remember, fish are at home, so respect them and respect their habitat!
